Attend the Pre-Construction Meeting

The preconstruction meeting is one of the most important steps before breaking ground. This is where you and your Project Manager review the final plans and pricing agreement together to ensure everyone is aligned on what will—and will not—be included in the build.

The main goal of this meeting is to confirm that your home will be built exactly according to your signed pricing agreement and your approved plans. If something was discussed during the sales process but is not clearly defined in these documents, it is not part of the scope of work. This protects both you and the builder by eliminating misunderstandings and setting clear expectations.

What to Expect at the Meeting

  • A review of your plans, selections, and specifications.
  • A walkthrough of the construction timeline and key milestones.
  • Clarification of communication protocols and how changes will be managed.
  • A reminder that any new requests or modifications will require a written change order with agreed pricing and scheduling impacts.

By confirming everything up front, the preconstruction meeting ensures transparency, avoids surprises, and gives you peace of mind that your home will be built exactly as contracted.
